1. Horizontally cut the soap in half, bit by bit, with the paring knife.
2. Draw a 3 cm (1-1/4") circle on the top of the bottom part of the soap with the toothpick.
3. Draw a smaller circle as shown in the right picture.
4. Divide the circumference of the soap into eight equal parts, then draw a scalloped circle as shown.
5. Holding the carving knife at a right angle, deeply cut the circles. Carve the center bud. Thinly cut off the soap inside the small circle. Lightly cut the scalloped circle.
6. Carve five petals of the center bud and shape the soap inside the petals into a dome shape.
7. Carve five petals inside the center bud.
8. Holding the carving at a right angle, create the five outer petals and deeply cut the soap around the center bud as drawn in pink on the photo.
9. Trim and shape the five parts into five curled petals as shown.
10. Carve six leaves as shown below.
11. Carve six smaller leaves as shown below.
12. Holding the carving knife at a right angle, deeply cut the soap as highlighted with pink contours.
13. Insert the knife into the side of the soap, horizontally cut and pull up the soap to remove.
14. Lightly push the top edge of the soap with your fingers to close the horizontal cuts at the side.
15. Thinly cut off the top edge of the soap to smooth.
16. Holding the carving knife at a right angle, cut along the scalloped circle as highlighted on the photo.
17. Tilting the carving knife, cut the soap as highlighted with pink contour in order to remove the soap.
18. Scoop out the top part of the soap inside with a spoon.
19. (Optional) Decorate your soap with rhinestones or beads.
