1.1 Cut out the butterfly template.
1.2 Slice off the top of your soap to create a smooth surface.
1.3 Place and trace the template onto your soap.
1.4 Make small holes with a needle as shown.
1.5 Draw lines along the holes.
1.6 Cut the butterfly with a carving knife.
1.7 Remove the soap around the butterfly.
1.8 Cut along the main part of butterfly body and remove soap around it.
1.9 Cut along the line between forewing and hindwing and remove soap around it.
1.10 Trim the body.
1.11 Slice off the forewing.
1.12 Divide the forewing into three equal parts as shown.
1.13 Carve a scallop line.
1.14 Carve a wavy line around the scallop.
1.15 Slice off the forewing.
1.16 Draw lines as shown.
1.17 Cut a line and remove the soap.
1.18 Carve the hearts.
1.19 Slice off the edge of the forewing.
1.20 Carve a scallop line.
1.21 Slice off the hindwing.
1.22 Carve the curved line.
1.23 Slice off the soap as shown in illustration.
1.24 Carve a wavy line.
1.25 Slice off the soap.
1.26 Draw a heart.
1.27 Remove the soap around heart.
1.28 Carve the scallop line and remove surrounding soap.
1.29 Repeat steps 1.9-1.28 for opposite wings.
Add pearl beads to the butterfly.
2.1 Carve small holes for pearl beads.
2.2 Insert the pearl beads into the holes.
2.3 Repeat two previous steps for opposite wings.
2.4 Make small holes around the scallop lines with a needle.
Make butterfly antennae.
3.1 Using the pliers, twist the wire.
3.2 Curl the ends into a loop.
3.3 Insert the wire antennae into the soap.
3.4 Done!
