Carve a cat
1.1 Cut out the cat template. Then trace the body of the cat, head and muzzle shapes onto your soap with a toothpick.
1.2 Lightly cut the shape of the cat with the carving knife, then roughly cut the shape out with the paring knife. Next, remove the excess soap around the shape of the cat with the carving knife.
1.3 Cut the lower part of the face of the cat and level the top of the body.
1.4 Cut the muzzle and remove the soap around it. Then cut off the top of the face to flatten.
1.5 Trace the hind paws.
1.6 Cut the hind paws, remove the soap around them and trim the edges of them.
1.7 Shape the belly of the cat.
1.8 Cut the lower part of the body, remove the excess soap and trim the edge.
1.9 Cut the nose and remove the soap around it, then trim the edge of the muzzle.
1.10 Trim the edge of the head and ears.
1.11 Shape the ears.
1.12 Carve a triangular indent in each ear.
1.13 Trace the eyes.
1.14 Cut the eye shapes and remove the soap around them.
1.15 Trim the edge of the eyes.
1.16 Carve two lines to create the pupil of the cat in each eye.
1.17 Carve the mouth.
1.18 Draw the tail on the bottom of the soap as it's shown. Cut the tail shape and remove the soap around it.
1.19 Trim the edge of the tail.
1.20 Carve the sides of the hind paws as it's shown.
1.21 Trim the edge of the back of the cat and shape the back.
1.22 (Optional) Draw the shape of the paw pad as it's shown. Cut the paw pad shape and remove the soap around it.
1.23 (Optional) Carve the small gaps between the paw pads and trim their edges.
Paint the cat
2.1 Paint the cat with food coloring (or soap colorant) mixed with water.
2.2 Done.
