Instructions
1. Cut out the hamster template, place the template on the soap and trace the shape onto it with a toothpick. Then cut out the shape of the hamster and the apple with a paring knife and a carving knife.
2. Hold the carving knife at the right angle, cut the side of the hamster where the pink line is drawn on the photo, then cut off the soap around the cut.
3. Trim the edge of the hamster as below.
4. Trim and shape the apple and trim the muzzle.
5. Repeat three previous steps for the other side.
6. Carve the nose.
7. Trim the edges of the back of the hamster and the ears.
8. Carve the tail as below.
9. Cut off the soap between the ears.
10. Trim the sides of the head and ears.
11. Holding the carving knife at a nearly horizontal angle, carve a circle indent in each ears.
12. Carve the eyes. Use the template if needed. You can also put the plastic eyes instead of carving them.
13. Carve the feet of the hamster cutting off soap as shown.
14. Cut the mouth and put the short piece of the wire on the apple.
15. (Optional) Cut off the half of the apple.
16. Carve two pointed indents in the apple.
17. Carve two seeds. I have carved another apple out of the rest of the soap.
18. Paint the whole apple or outer part of its half with red color and the seeds with black color if you cut the apple in half. Done!
