Instructions

1. Cut out the template.

2. Thinly slice off the top and bottom of the soap with a carving knife.

3. Cut the soap in half with a paring knife.

4. Place the template on the soap.

5. Trace the shape of the seal with a toothpick.

6. Hold your knife at a right angle, cut the shape of the seal.

7. Using a paring knife, roughly cut the soap.

8. Remove excess soap with the carving knife. Cut the soap perpendicularly to the top of the soap.

9. Cut the front paw.

10. Carve the front paw.

11. Repeat two previous steps for second front paw.

12. Trim the edges of the body.

13. Cut between the hand and the body and remove the soap around the cut.

14. Repeat previous step to the other side.

15. Trim the bottom of the body.

16. Shape the front to create a muzzle, as shown.

17. Shape the hind part of the body to create feet.

18. Cut between the feet and remove the soap.

20. Carve the mouth as shown.

21. Make three holes to create a nose and eyes.

22. Place the 4 mm plastic eyes into the holes for eyes and 5 mm plastic eye into the hole for the nose.
